Sammy Sosa Uniform # 11

Since Sammy Sosa was traded, I have had several inquiries about Sammy wearing #11 for the Cubs. This subject has come up in the past, and to get the correct answer, I wrote the Cubs. Here is the response I got from Chuck Wasserstrom, who was then media information manager for the Cubs. (and for the people who asked because they saw a picture of Sammy wearing #11 in Wrigley Field...yes, the Cubs did play an exhibition game in Wrigley Field before the regular season started, April 4th, 1992, against the Brewers)
